Thank you so much for this reply.  I considered just such an action but
decided to wait and see how my email was received.  

You are absolutely correct, however, there have been many times when the
only way to get a response to a feature request was to leave a negative
review in the App Store.

You might also consider leaving a negative review in the App Store.
Developers seem to look a those reviews for how they are doing with the apps
development. Not saying that they will disregard your email, but it is good
to cover bases when dealing with the larger developers and companies.
