I could never make it work either so I just have all my music in iTunes and
then just sync each device and put my music on that device. A bit of a
pain but it can be done.

I have always had this problem. The sharing option for me rarely if ever
appears. On the one or two times it has popped up for me, I never was able
to access my library. I tried everything in the Apple support page and no
go. It didn't work when I switched routers or on other Apple devices.
I have to believe that it's got to be something with my network settings,
but haven't ever been able to figure out what.

Open Settings, and choose Music. Home Sharing is the last option. Type in
your Apple ID and password,. Now Sharing should be an option in the More
section of the Music app.
