I apologize if this is already common knowledge, but I just use a four
finger double tap and stumbled upon VoiceOver help mode. Do a four
finger double tap, go into help mode, and then VoiceOver will tell you
what each gesture will do. A scrub or four finger double tap will take
you out of help mode.
