Unfortunately you can only delete individual songs on the iPhone, it is one feature where I really don't understand why Apple got rid of it. Anyhow, you can delete songs just like emails in your Inbox, swipe down or up to put the action rotor on Delete and then double tap. If it's just one album you can just delete the 10 or 12 songs. In iTunes you could select the album in your column browser, then tab into the list of songs, highlight them all by holding shift and arrow through the list, then press Delete.
