Hello, I also have the Flex and I'm using the same FitBit free app. As far as I can tell, the FitBit syncs automatically. If you flick past those 3 buttons yesterday left, today, then day right, you will come to your Flex button. This button says Flex, looking for your Flex, or Flex Syncing, or Flex connected. When it says Flex connected you are all synced up.
You can double tap this Flex button, which will bring you to more information about the Flex.
