I don't have these headphones, but it sounds like they're being pretty
aggressive with their energy saving and shutting down whenever they
don't detect a stream coming in. This would explain why VO is normal
whenever you already have a stream playing, but cuts in and out when you
don't. In my experience, this used to be pretty common place with
bluetooth headphones, but seems to have gotten better over time. Maybe
with better batteries and more efficient bluetooth protocols (such as
4.0) devices don't need to be as aggressive in energy saving and
prolonging the battery.

Hi all:
I have a pair of Philips Fidelio M1BT headphones which is a nice pair
of headphones.
Audio quality is excellent but VO sounds strange.
VO stutters and sometimes no speech at all when I touch the screen or
VO speech is cut off before all text is read.
The strange thing is that VO speech is perfectly normal when I have
other audio streams playing at the same time.
For instance when I listen to music VO sounds perfectly normal on
these BT headphones.
But as soon as I stop music VO is stuttering again.
I'm pretty sure that Philips Fidelio M1BT supports A2DP but I could be
wrong.
Is this a typical A2DP problem?
Thanks!
