I agree, it doesn't sound like you'd need more than 2G of data. The other question is how often you'll be able to use wifi. If you'll consistently have access to wifi, such as you have it at home, then you can safely update IOS and your apps over the air without having to worry about your cellular data. Even if you don't have wifi, but you'll be hooking your phone up to your PC or Mac occasionally, then you can update the phone and apps that way, and again wouldn't have to worry about those using up your 2G.

Eve,

2GB should be fine for those needs. The only thing that will involve a bit of data is sending pics of items to Tap-Tap-See to be recognized. General internet browsing, emails, sending texts, don't use much data unless you watch a lot of video or plan to listen to a great deal of music streaming.

In any event, you can have VZW set up to send you an alert when you consume half or three-quarters of your data allotment for that billing cycle. Secondly, you can turn off certain apps which consume data from the cellular data in your iPhone settings.

Take my advice, I don't use it anyway.

Subject: Questions regarding Aps and IPhone 5S

Hi All,

As I stated in an earlier message last week, I intend to purchase an IPhone
5S in the near future.
I have Verizon as my carrier & plan to have 2 GB data. I've heard on this list that lots of aps use the internet. Would it be better to purchase more GB, or just don't use the ones that require the internet connection? I only
want to text once in a while, and be able to identify objects and colors
with the iPhone. Also, I would like to use the ap that can read a printed
page after taking a picture of it with the camera. Would someone please
explain all this stuff to me? Thanks!

Eve
