Hi all
Wished you could cut the cord when syncing your device with iTunes? Well you can thanks to a perhaps little known feature called iTunes Wifi Sync. Here's how to get it working: 1. Make sure both the computer with iTunes installed is connected to the same wifi network as your device.
2. Connect the device via USB cable. Open iTunes if it's not open already.
3. Select your device in either the sidebar if enabled or by clicking the button associated with that device.
4. Make sure the summary radio button is selected.
5. Check the check box that says, "enable device to sync over wifi", where device is either iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad.
6. Click apply button.
Now whenever you launch iTunes and your device is in range you can manage and sync your device over wifi. As you will see the only things you can't do is update or restore the software which can only be done via USB cable anyway.
Note
you can enable this feature for one or more devices you have. If you have at least two devices you will see a button that says the number of devices. Click on this and you can choose the device you want to manage and optionally sync.
Hope this is of some use.
