Sieghard,

I understand what you said. I just tell you I do not or almost never see parallel ports or almost never hear them said. None my equipment have have them, only USB. The Braille device I have has serial/USB ports and a Bluetooth. That is it.

Todd

Hi Todd,

Parallels Access is a company which offers a remote access
solution that
allows users to connect to a laptop or desktop via their iPhone,
iPad or
Android mobile device and run applications which are on the
computer on
their mobile device. It has nothing to do with a parallel port
which stated
correctly is no longer used on most modern computers or printers.
Here a few
excerpts from the Parallels Access website:

Leave the laptop behind when you are on the move. Or on the
couch.
Our unique "applification" technology lets you use all of your
desktop
applications as if they were native apps for your iPhone, iPad,
or Android
device.

There are many such remote access solutions out there including
LogMeIn,
GoToMyPC and others, most of them are not accessible with
screenreading
technology or braille since they project an image of the
computer's screen
to your mobile device.

Regards,
Sieghard

David,

Neither have I seen any parallels on any devices anymore. Only
serial still exists. USB became standard, along with the new
micro USB. But in time, they will become obsolete.

Chris, you should know this fact.

Unfortunately, Parallels is not accessible from what I
understand.
