Hi Paul. I use an app on my phone called iMap Weather Radio which is $9 in the app store. I know that it's been discussed several times but recently they came out with an update with a couple changes that I at least like. The first one is that if you've added cities to your favorites, there's now a play button at the bottom of the screen that when pressed will prompt the built-in voice to read current conditions for your cities as well as any weather warnings in that particular area. The second one is, and I'm happy about this, they finally stopped using the Cepstral William voice. Now, Samantha reads anything, though I have yet to investigate if you can change the voice somewhere. Also, if you've set weather alerts up, the app will alert you at the lock screen or anywhere in the phone and if you double tap on the alert, the app will open and there will be a play button to listen to the full details of the warning. In my opinion, it's worth the $9 or $10. Good luck with choosing whatever app you're gonna use.
