Actually, mine is made to where the screen can be held in 1 of 3 positioned
or degrees if you will. These cases are not intended to be used on your lap
and still have access to the typing keys. I can reconfigure mine so that my
iPad Air lays flat upon the disconnected typing keys giving it a solid
foundation when the typing keys are not needed. The typing keys are
connected through Bluetooth and so when you configure the case to hold the
iPad flat against the typing keys the typing keys are then automatically
disconnected. You don't always need typing keys.

The keyboard size is not a lot different than a netbook. The one thing to
remember, though, is that, unlike a netbook/notebook computer, the Ipad
cover is not hinged so that it will stay open on a table or on your lap. So,
you have to plan on opening it flat so that both the keyboard and Ipad are
lying on the surface or be able to remove the keyboard from the case and use
them separately. This is how mine works. The keyboard is a separate piece
that is held in the case by magnets. It does have a kickstand on the back to
prop the Ipad on a table, but does not work on your lap. I am not sure if
the Logitech keyboard can be removed from the case or not.
I would suggest either trying one in a store or purchasing from somewhere
with a good return policy. I actually have found with mine, the same as with
keyboards for the phone, I don't need the keyboard very often at all, but it
is with me all the time, and the added bulk and weight, no matter how
slight, are just not worth the trouble. So, for those few occasions I do
want a keyboard I would rather have something like the Apple Bluetooth, etc.
at hand over the more compact cover type.

The logitech cover with keyboard for ipad mini sounds very interesting.
Have you seen it? How big are the keys? Is it a full qwerty keyboard?
Somehow I can't imagine where the keys would be. Can you say any more about
the reliability and the way the keyboard works with vo commands?

Apple
that just covers the front, but when you pull it back, it unlocks the unit
then when you put it back, it locks it.
I also have the OtterBox case which is bulky and heavy but it works.
The last I have is the LifeProof case. It is a good waterproof case, but
