Hi, I'm not sure if this app takes up space on the phone. It supposedly sends the file directly to DropBox. Of course, what it does with the phones internal memory before that is something I don't know. However, I have another concern about using this for a long term recording, especially if you do not have wireless. When I have tried to use it with 3g, it is very much slower in the transfer. I would hate to see some of this very long file be lost in transmission. Of course, it is likely not to happen, but it could, I suppose.
HandiRec recorder does, I think, record in MP3. But you either have to send it to the cloud or use iTunes to get it off your phone. I doubt this is likely an issue, but worth confirming, I suppose. -----Original Message----- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Jed Barton Sent: Friday, July 25, 2014 9:42 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: dropvox weirdness Hey there, Here's the issue. I'll launch the app, it'll stay open for about 1 to 3 seconds, and then seem to take me back to the page in my iphone where the app is. This makes no sense what so ever. Never seen this before. So, here's what happens. I launch the app, sometimes i can get to the record button in time to hit it. It'll make the sound that it is recording. Then about 3 seconds later, it'll seem to dump out of the app. When i go to the app switcher, and go back to dropvox, it doesn't seem to be recording. It almost seems to ahve a shutdown after about 3 seconds or so. This makes no sense. Any ideas?
