your description is not clear to me, but did you try the obvious such as replacing batteries? What happens when you press the left and right arrow keys together? Do you get any feedback when you turn on keyboard help with ControlOption K?
I always have to wait about 30 seconds for my Amazon Basics keyboard to be recognized, so git it some time before pressing the left or right arrow keys to test for keyboard activity. Oh yeah, the button next to F12 is the hide/unhide on-screen keyboard button.
