Hi, Shawn,

Try reordering your speech rate rotor setting so it's near the bottom. There
are a few pages of rotor settings, so it may take a few pushes. What's probably
happening is that in certain situations, there are temporary rotor settings
that appear at the end of the rotor settings. For example, in Mail, the
actions, setting appears if you turn the rotor to the left of your characters
setting. Actions and other settings like search fields aren't things you can
reorder. So I find it's best to put them at the bottom of the order so that you
can still reach them easily by turning the rotor to the left a few times. When
these temprary rotr settings aren't needed anymore, they stop being active and
the rotor jumps to the next action. If you start with characters and turn to
the right, you'll go from top to bottom. If you start from characters and turn
to the left, the first item you'll hit is the bottom one that's in the rotor.

I hope this makes sense. I know it can be confusing. I just think of the rotor
as points on a circle.

HtH,
Teresa
