My experience is similar to Sieghard’s. But, I was surprised to find a VizWiz app update several days ago. I updated it, among many others, but haven’t checked it out. Maybe there’s hope for a reboot at VizWiz if they’re updating the app.

The last time I tried it was probably half a year ago and at that point I actually still received a reply, but it came the next day so not exactly useful. If you want good object recognition try Camfind which is free or, for a paid option, Tap Tap See also works great. Both apps are actually by the same developer. The only feature Viswiz had which was very useful was the ability to ask a question along with the picture. With Camfind or Tap Tap See this is not an option at this point, but the recognition and mostly the results are quite good. In settings, I have cellular okay to use with facebook but, I can’t get it to get the picture on faceook. I know it worked before.
