Actually, I like the way my husband put it. It's more like giving someone a key 
to your house, giving them the permission to use it when they deem fit, and 
having them leave you a gift. Have you ever seen the iCloud user agreement? It 
covers this situation. I don't think Apple is your best bet for privacy, unless 
you don't use iTunes or other Apple services at all. I always figure that the 
more convenient and interactive a technology is, the more it will affect 
privacy. Windows does the same sort of thing by giving you all kinds of 
software you don't necessarily specifically order.
