What you are describing is normal behavior as far as I know. When you are in the bookshelf, you have the titles and then a more info button. The upper right corner says edit. If you double tap on edit, then a delete button pops up next to each title and the edit button changes to a done button because you have just begun editing. When you are finished deleting books, you double tap on the done button and it goes back to being an edit button. It has always been this way. You wouldn't have a done button unless you were in the editing mode. So, unless I am completely misunderstanding you, this is standard behavior.
