Some people have already tried the KNFB reader on 4S and it seems to work
well, just not as fast. So what if it takes 5 seconds to produce a result
rather than 1 second. I just wonder if the company just didn't want to take
a chance in getting complaints that it wasn't fast enough. I have to admit
that he did say in his presentation that you should try it on a 4S and see
if you are happy with it. It sounds like they just didn't want to commit.

The 4S still has an 8 MP camera just as the 5, 5C, 5S,6 and 6 Plus do. Only
difference is that it has a sensor with slightly smaller pixels and it
doesn't have the true tone flash. Since the pixels seem to primarily be
important when it comes to low light and the true tone flash is mostly
important to cover colours better, I doubt this would make much of a
difference. Yes, I know KNFB isn't officially supporting the 4S and they
justified their late release by saying the camera on the iPhone never was
good enough, but while I love the app I am not sure if I entirely trust
their explanations. Their public relations guy, Jim, said some things which
are simply not correct and I thought almost indicated a certain amount of
ignorance. But it's all good, the app is out and just as Jonathan already
said, it also exceeded my expectations although I never did spring for the
$1,500 to get KNFB Reader on a Nokia years ago.
