If you use iTunes on your computer to sync your iPhone, see that "summary" is checked. Tab until the "check for updates" is the one you hit the space bar on, and it will show that 8.0 is available. Do you want it? Hit the enter key on "yes" and follow the prompts and let it do it's thing. This is the safest way to update.
