That's weird. Thanks for the correction. Now, I know. I was going by the
fact that I have always been asked if I want to update, because I exclusively
do downloads and upgrades using iTunes on the PC, never using WiFi.

  Hi Charles,

You are correct in saying you have to go ahead and install it, but it will in
fact automatically download as long as your phone has enough space on it and it
is connected to WiFi and plugged in. A lot of people do plug their phone in
over night while it is connected to WiFi so if that is the case you will wake
up with iOS 8 downloaded to your phone. You can of course not install it, but
it will sit there taking up almost 2 Gb of space.

  Regards,

  Sieghard

You don't delete the upgrade that is waiting for you. You either use it or
you don't. It's your choice. And no operating system will automatically
download and install itself. You must allow it.

Subject: IOS 8 - Will It Automatically Install?

    HI all,

I am a new IPhone owner so this question may be simplistic to many of you.
I have already had one update to install on my IPhone 5s; it showed up in the
notification area. I read somewhere that if you do not do these installs, they
will install automatically after a certain time period has passed. Will this
be the case with IOS8? Will it show up as an update in my notifications? If I
do not want to upgrade to IOS8 quite yet, will I have the option to delete the
upgrade? Thanks.

    Regards,

    Sherry Wells
