chuck, could you give more detail how you read the signs, were they close
up? 20 feet away? did you use the vibrations to tell you if the phone was
level? were these signs on a wall, or lying flat? enquiring minds want to
know!

It amazes me how the App Store his turn so many reasonable people into
extremely miserly human beings. 15 years ago I spent over $1500 for OCR
programs and a flatbed scanner so I could read my mail. It worked about 60%
of the time, and I was very happy with that
Today I went to the desert botanical gardens and walked around with my knfb
reader, reading signs and learning about the desert fauna and how the Native
American people survived in such incredible heat before air-conditioning. It
was amazing. Hundred dollars is a very small price to pay to have magic in
my hand.

I've had good luck reading things with this app, even on my 4S,
more luck than with any other app I have purchased, or with the
KNFB Reader on the Nokia N 82, for that matter. Oh, I'm not
claiming that it is perfect by any means; but, for my purposes of
sorting my mail and the like, I am able to get good enough
results to get the job done to my satisfaction.
