Hi Karl,

This seems to be one of these random problems with iOS 8. Both Money Reader
and Light Detector are working fine for me. I have been running iOS 8
starting with Beta 1 in June and both apps always have orked. I did a new
install of iOS 8 last week and both apps still work. I believe there is a
camera bug which affects not only Voiceover users so this would probably be
more something Apple has to fix rather than an issue with LookTel Money
Reader or Light Detector. I heard this on the Today in iOS podcast, but when
I just did a quick Google search I couldn't find too much except I found one
thread from a Skype forum where people were reporting they got a black
screen when trying to do a video call from their iPads (of various
generations) so this sounds similar. I would definitely write to
accessibil...@apple.com <mailto:accessibil...@apple.com> to report this.

Subject: LookTel Money Reader in IOS 8

Recently I read that the Money Reader isn't working in IOS 8. I saw some
work arounds posted here but I wonder if anyone has gotten it to work. This
week end I worked on a friends 5S with IOS 8 and found that no matter what I
did the Money Reader would start but the camera wouldn't open. I checked in
settings to see that the camera was set to on but no go. Is there really a
way to get this to work or does she have to wait for an update from LookTel?
Thanks.

Karl
