I've had problems getting the keyboard to appear after double-tapping this
field, as well, and that was after making sure that it was visible on the
screen and directly under my finger. After that, I performed a split-tap to
activate it, and after a few unsuccessful tries, eventually asked my husband to
activate it. He also had some trouble doing so, but he did eventually get the
keyboard to show up by being persistent about it.

Thanks,
Ari
