I have a hearing loss and Alex sounds pretty good. I don't have a Mac yet and have only heard him in the stores before, so it will take me awhile to get used to him. He is in many ways clearer than the Samantha voice, but if he is saying a long string of text, it is often hard to understand everything. Right now, I have boht the HQ voices of Alex and Samantha in my rodar and switch between them regularly. I do like Alex, but I also like Samantha. The Samantha voice has gotten better over the last couple of years and is now more tolerable to use.
