If you do not use iCloud, connect your iPhone to your PC using the USB cable
and open iTunes on the computer. Then, in the list of sources, go down it
apps and tab to the all button and check it with the space bar. Wait for a
bit for iTunes to update the info. Then tab to the list of apps and start
down arrowing through them. When you get to one you are sure you don't want
anymore, hit the delete key, and you will be asked if you want the app to
remain in your library or if you want to permanently delete it. Shift tab
to the option to send it to the recycle bin and press the space bar.
Continue this process until all unwanted apps have been sent to the recycle
bin. After you're finished, sync..

you! really! are! finished!

Subject: Permanently removing apps?
Could someone explain how to permanently get rid of apps you no longer want,
so they don't come back to life again when you restore from a backup?
Thanks in advance.
