You can go into iPhone's Settings, General, usage. Doble-tap on the iOS8
entry, then double-tap again to delete. It may take several seconds (because
of its size).

My iPhone 4S finally got around to picking up the iOS 8 update. I'm not
really interested in updating and losing performance quality. Is there a way
to clear this from my Settings? I remember someone mentioning it downloads
the file, thereby taking up space. If so, this is maddening, as I don't want
to be saddled with an OS version I'm not interested in obtaining. Thanks for
any tips!
