All of this is rather interesting, but I can not help to wonder why apple
then would include support for the 4S if all of this might indeed happen to
it? To me, at least, this does not make real sense, especially if functions
like wifi
might be impacted. Just my opinion though. I still use a 4S, and will
wait for all the bugs to be cleared up, and then I might venture into
updating it, seeing what will happen to it after that.

will slow down older phones like the 4S. IOS 8 is designed for larger
displays, and, that being the case, the extra space required onscreen may
preclude proper use of the onscreen keyboard. IOS 8 requires much more space
to install, which could be a problem on older phones with limited storage.
IOS may ruin your ability to use wi-fi. And, last bun not least, IOS 8 may
seriously impact battery life.
