Not only is it more confusing, but it is totally inaccurate. So far, the releases have been, in sequence, 8.0, 8.0.1, and 8.0.2. Notice that the last two updates are still in the 8.0 group. 8.1 will be the first in the next group. Think of it like we count: 100 101 102. Then again, 100, 110, and 120. 118 is still part of the 110 group. I hope this clears things up?

Subject: Version numbers

Hi all

Just a heads up, iOS 8.2 would be completely different than 8.0.2 as far
as versions go. For one thing iOS 8.2 is not even out yet whereas 8.0.2
is. I know it's far easier to input 8.2 but this could make things a
little confusing.
