This is just since IOS 8. It occurs on my iPhone 5 and Touch 5. I cannot catch it occurring regularly, but quite often, around the top of the hour, one or the other of my devices will make a tone like when you swipe but are at the top or bottom of the screen. I have never heard them do it together. This occurs when the screen is off, but the device is not powered down.
I really cant think of anything new, although I have updated some apps since the OS release. I have made sure nothing is running in the app switcher. I am not the only one to have heard it, so it is not just my imagination. If anyone has any thoughts, they will be appreciated. Thanks!
