You can bring up the context menu by hitting the applications key on most Windows keyboards or the Shift+F10 combination. The context menu brings up actions you can take specific to the current object that has focus. I often forget it, but it's a good habit to look at the context menus when exploring a new application to see what actions you can get to quickly.

Ah, I haven't done a file transfer since moving up to iTunes 12. I've just done syncing, so that's why I'm still hearing the same tones I've always heard.

What do you mean by the Context menu? Thanks. Keith

Thanks, next time I will look for that. I get the same tones after a sinc but
not with a file transfer.

I seem to get the same audible notifications when using iTunes that I've
always gotten.

Using NVDA and iTunes on Windows, I usually tab over to something that
says something like "LCD status text area" and if I leave focus there,
NVDA automatically reads out the status as it changes. If the transfer
is quick enough, this may not help, but I do this whenever I'm doing an
IOS update, and I find it very helpful and reassuring.

I'm not sure when I first noticed it, but I now have a button that says
something like "Only sync checked songs". When I go over to the list of
artists, I use the context menu to see if an artist is checked or not. I
only check the artists I want synced to my iPhone and after checking the
artists I want (or actually unchecking the artists I don't want since
the default is that they're checked) then when I sync with my iPhone
only those artists that are still checked will end up on my iPhone.

I'm not sure how helpful this is. I can't check the actual wording of
these fields and buttons at the moment since I'm not in Windows right now.

Well, now I have to admit I just figured it out. I can now transfer
individual songs from an album by finding the list of songs not the name
of the album and then selecting all. Use the menu key and then add to
play list and select my phone. What confused me is that I tunes does not
give you an audible indicator that it is transferring or one that sounds
when it is done as it used to do. I tunes is not very consistant with
letting you know when things are happening audibly.
