Hi there unless I understand magic wrong incorrectly, I thought that the free 
version of the app still uses the cellular network to make your phone calls. 
However he does Gateway phone numbers so that your number originates from some 
common number that the person sees on their caller ID. If Mia wants to make 
calls to other people using data only, like on Wi-Fi or the 3G network and not 
the cellular network, one solution would be to have a separate account of some 
kind with a sip dialer like what has been suggested, or a Google voice number 
with a Google Voice apps such as GV connect and making the calls over the 
Internet using data.
