Does iTunes see the phone? Do you have anything else that takes a USB charge that you could plug into the same USB port? It might be the port rather than the cable.

Now, I’m having a problem when I plug the lightning cable in to the computer. The phone doesn’t charge, and I get a message from iTunes saying that I need to connect a USB cable to transfer data. I’m using the cable that came with my phone and the latest version of iTunes. When I plug the phone in to AC power, it charges with no problem. Do I need to get a new cable from Apple? Thanks for your help. Liz -- The following information is important for all members of the viphone list. All new members to the this list are moderated by default.
