My Otter box Defender makes it difficult to press the buttons, volume and sleep power switch. I manage and won't take it off but sometimes those buttons don't want to respond.

When I got my 6 from Verizon, I got the Defender case. The salesperson put on a film screen protector on the phone before putting the case on it, and that seems to work pretty well for filling in the gap. The phone seems pretty responsive to me.
