Just tap the spacebar as soon as auto correct speaks the correct word or,
if it doesn't, tap the spacebar anyways and if your keyboard echo is set
to Words it will speak the word and you'll know if it's correct.

podcast, and his phone talks as he is typing. Thee auto correct is trying
to get him to accept the word it wants. How do I get it do that for me? I

As Christopher pointed out, direct touch typing works by typing the
letter when you tap it not when you lift your finger as in touch typing.
If you have auto correct turned on, you can, however, type and just as
with Fleksy not worry too much whether you totally hit the exact letter
you wanted or maybe the one right next to it because auto correct will do
what it is supposed to do and auto correct what you are typing and as
soon as you press the spacebar the correct word will usually be written.
But you still have to be very good in terms of hitting the letter you
want most of the time or maybe be just one letter off. There is an
excellent Podcast on www.appleviss.com where the Podcaster shows how this
works and while I realized basically how it works, I always thought this
was not for most blind people, but with auto correct and lots of practice
I think some people will be really good with this.

Just single tap the screen on the letter you want to enter. It
requires a pretty good knowledge of where each character is located,
and at least in my case, a pretty extensive use of the delete key, at
least until I get a bit better at it.
