I'm sure there are some stores that may only carry the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6+ and other stores that only stock those two models but Apple is still making and selling the 5s, and you can get it at a lower price. The 5C can also still be had from Apple and many places for even less. If you want a 5s, I'd ask about it. It may not be in the displays and it may not even be in stock, but I'd think it would be the rare store that couldn't get it for you. You could also get it directly from Apple if you have no other options.

I recommend not getting a six or 6+. I have heard it crashes randomly. I
don't think anyone would want that. Maybe in a year they will have this
fixed.

Sieghard, Kelly, Shawn and others,

Thank you for your comments. I live in the UK so I don’t think that
Apple Pay will be here any time soon. What you have so far said is
very balanced, and I’m reading all your comments with great attention.

Hello Andrew and Shawn,

Shawn, you made a good point which I forgot. The support for Apple
Pay would be a very compelling reason for me to get a 6 if I was
living in the States. But as you mentioned, Canada won't see Apple
Pay for a while although it would be my guess that Apple Pay will be
in Canada before too long as our financial and credit card systems
are similar. I fully expect that I will upgrade again next year, but
with Apple Pay taken out of the equasion there really isn't enough
reason to upgrade from a 5S to a 6.
As far as how much of a compelling reason Apple Pay is for you,
Andrew, that is entirely up to you. I am very intriqued by it and
feel it is very well thought out and implemented based on what I
heard about it. It appears to be an Apple product in the old way when
Apple would not release half-baked stuff as they sometimes have done
in the last couple of years.

Sieghard

Hi Andrew. I agree with Sieghard about getting a 5S. I know with
myself when I got my 5S, I was only getting $60 for my 4S. I wanted a
32 GB 5S but I settled for 16 because it was only $100 so I only had
to pay about $40 for it plus $15 for the sim card from Telus.

As for processors, I'm not a power user as well. I don't use Safari
because I have a Mac to surf the internet with. So the A7 chip is
good enough for me. As long as I can use Alex on my phone, that's
good enough for me. Yeah sure, the A8 chip on the 6 and 6 Plus sounds
good, but like Sieghard said, I don't think there would be any
improvements to speed. Also, we in Canada can't use Apple Pay, which
is one of the biggest features of the 6 so there's really no point.
I'll worry about upgrading when iOS can no longer be upgraded on my 5S.

Hi,

Based on one’s financial situation, what is your opinion about
getting an iPhone 5S as opposed to iphone 6? Please give me your
honest opinion. Yes, I’m looking at the matter from the point of
view of someone who will have to take a small loan to get a new
iPhone. So I’d like to know whether I would notice a significant
difference in performance between iPhone 5S and iPhone 6? Many of
you on the list have been using iPhone for a variety of tasks in
difficult situations. Please let me have your experiences. I read
that iPhone 5S has a A7 chip which would make it possible for me to
use Alex. I guess it has more other opportunities, advantages, I
mean. On the other hand, iPhone 6 offers the A8 chip and maybe just
maybe a different future possibility? Please let me hear your
voices experiences. I’m not a particularly powerful iPhone user as
yet.

Many thanks

Andrew
