I think you'll like iOS 8 on the 4S. I can't answer your question about the A cappella voices, as I've never been fond of them, and as such, have never got any. Unfortunately, while Voice Dream Reader works beautifully with iOS 8 for the most part, it does crash every once in a blue moon.
