Tab until you get to devices, press the device you want such as iPhone, you
should tab and see a treeview, but it should land on summary, Go through those
options and eventually you will find backup, this is just like it was as it was
when we had the sidebar, same options such as music, … then your iPhone upgrade
status, phone number etc. Lots of tab to press but you will eventually get to
an encrypt button. More time consuming because for me at least getting to the
device box is way far away from where one should think it is. I wish I could
default it to there because I hate having to go through so many boxes to do
what I usually want to do, check on status and back up or check that it
happened on iCloud etc. It was always where I went first with the side bar,
and hated that that was near the bottom of the list but with 12 the info I most
often want to see seems miles away. The other place I generally checked was
apps to be sure the computer saw them updated, again, more difficult. I have
music on my computer, sure, but it isn’t the first place I want to see, seldom
use iTunes to play on the computer because of Jaws.
