Hi No, i am used to the whatsapp thing, using it almost every day, so I am quite use to doing that. No, it really begins to make the sound you should hear when the recording starts, and then I hear the sound like when one opens an app, and your are left inside the edit field or on the send button, even if I keep my finger there.

Take a look at the settings under iMessage is you can configure some of the settings for all your messages there.
