Hi All,
I was thinking about setting up a federation of SPARQL Endpoints that
all expose different aspects of a field of study.
Each endpoint would be part of the larger LOD cloud.
However, users could query the entire federation using the top main
graph or query subsets of the federation.
The idea is that this would be a somewhat loose federation but one
that links groups that have similar datasets and vocabularies.
The question is how would you set this up as an RDF/OWL description
and how you configure each of the SPARQL endpoints.
You have to create #URIs that reflect your goals via URL-Rewrite rules.
You may also want to look at http://bio2rdf.org to see their particular
setup with appears to be close to what you seek.
We are also working on SPARQL-FED with will enable virtualization of
SPARQL endpoints which can then be applied to the Re-write rules behind
your URIs.
Many options here as you can see.
As for the OWL Description, I assume you're referring to the TBox
aspects of this Federated Linked Data Space?

Thanks!
