All,

I am still seeking a way to achieve metadata (fine grain provenance) for
each triple as described in this Virtuoso FAQ Virtuoso metadata FAQ
<http://virtuoso.openlinksw.com/dataspace/doc/dav/wiki/Main/VOSVirtuoso6FAQ#
Do you support additional metadata for triples, such as time-stamps,
security tags etc?> .

-Where is the new 7.1 bif_metadata() function documented and what is its
purpose? Perhaps it is relevant to achieving provenance for each triple.

-The FAQ above says changing the table layout to add a column (i.e. Unique
Index) is possible. How might this column be added and how can a unique ID
be auto-generated? Also what is the performance/memory impact and how can
Sparql support be added for the column. I suppose I was hoping for some
official documentation for those perusing this type of customization.

-The FAQ also mentions making a special graph that concatenates graph,
predicate, subject, and object for use as a key. If half of the triples
require provenance is this realistic from a performance/memory perspective?

Regards,

Kevin
