that's ok. we too have many systems with * 1.0.x .

that's a contradiction... you plan to use a very new driver (we're visdn
hackers for now) on a stable arch, that could lead to instability.
I don't agree with this... 
since the systems are stable, leave them working alone :)

Since visdn is new, just stabilize it on an arch that is gaining
stability.

Personally, our systems that're 1.0.x based will never be updated with
visdn, since they works and since we're conservative :)

on new systems, where we'll work for stability, we'll use visdn.
