Hey, D> What is a "hum" ? How would you describe it? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hum :) It's a monotone tone as it's coming from a bee/bumblebee. Another word is "buzz". I think the italian word is "ronzio".
The one I got sounds "electrical", like the one you get when you turn the volume at your stereo rather high without playing something.
