what cards do you use ? the quadbris from junghanns.net ?
If not. where did you get (buy) them from?
we (and daniele) use our own quadbris :)
We can add a point here: quadbris from junghanns, beronet
and us are the very same.
They're a modified evaluation boards and his made
under cologne permissions or whatever.
Ie you could not have the gerbers and/or bom for these
card, but you can just buy them from a cologne
reseller.
This what we're doing (and junghanns and beronet).
so you can use visdn with any kind of quadbris... they're
the same.
oh, if you buy them from us, you'll help us to fund visdn
development :)
but we're moving on... so I have a secret for you...
we're building our own quadbris (no more clones),
but a new card, completely developed in .it.
We'll have the prototypes next week and show them @cebit.
What's new in these card? nothing, technicaly speaking.
Only cheaper, but fully visdn/misdn/bristuff compatible.
Hfc-4s based of course.
So... why we're doing that?
right question, easy answer:
to have a starting board for our (sssssh... is a secret)
quadbri DSP powered.... yes a quad with a DSP
on board.... DSP will be used for echo suppression
and for g729 encoding... of course the DSP
can be used for only for encoding/decoding, without
connecting the isdn part... so to do
g729 compression for pure voip channels in hardware...
mmmmh... do you find that interesting?
hopefully (is everthing will be ok) we'll show
also the DSP board at cebit... prototypes, btw.
matteo.

Salve Matteo,
sounds like a really good idea popping a DSP onto a QuadBRI PCB...
Sadly I already bought a BeroNet one a couple of months ago (rather
expensive as
are all others as well). Since I couldn't get mine running under visdn yet I
can't even tell how bad the echo would be. But there's still a back-up system
in the back of my mind...
It's only a 800 MHz P3, but even for that one another QuadBRI would come in
handy. Could even be that back-up-system will become the primary server
if your
card beats the rest. Let's see how competitive your prices are...
And for my case: "Developed in Italy" is not a flaw. Could not be worse than
Made in China ;-))) Just kidding :-D
I keep my fingers crossed that everything goes well with your development. And
with the GSM-card as well. I have no idea right what use it would be for me,
but I think I'll get one just for the heck of having one! May the force
be with
you!
Good work guys. Might even find my way to CeBit...
tanti saluti da Monaco (di Baviera, naturalmente ;-)
