Me too :)
Forums have their use, but not to replace mailinglists. I am still
looking
for a forum that can double as a mailinglist to get the best of both
worlds, but no luck so far...
I'm sure I've seen one somewhere...

This is the point where I have to spent my 2 cents:
Mailman is the most worse mailinglist-script I've
ever seen. Search in archives would make it so easy.
Having this feature, you do not have to setup a Forum.
So I would suggest to look for a better mailinglist script.
