I'm testing visdn on gentoo - without compiling problems
is ppp installed and or does the kernel lacks ppp-support ?

Probably Gentoo has headers and ppp configuration dir in non-standard
places,
you have to specify the locations explicitly.
Please then report the locations, so that I can adapt the configure
script,
for great justice.
