as mentioned in this list earlier you've to apply the asterisk-cap patch
inside the samples dir to asterisk as you're trying to start asterisk
not as root.
...maybe it shoud be documented what the patches are for. Poor effort
having to browse through months of mailinglists to find the correct
hint... - I just wrote an ebuild-file for gentoo/asterisk-1.2.7 to let
this been done automatically via visdn use-flag - hope this work - just
testing it ;)
