If it helps, I had to hack visdn a bit to get my adapter (same as yours) to even recognise, and then was told that voice support wasn't completed yet. It has apparently been 'nearly done' for a while, but I think that the code is undergoing a bit of a rewrite.
I'm using mISDN for now and it seems to be working well. If I still have my modifications somewhere I might be able to send them to you, but I doubt they'll help much (not sure if they were even really correct) James > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:visdn-hackers- > [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Wednesday, 20 September 2006 20:09 > To: [email protected] > Subject: [Visdn-hackers] Can't get hfc based USB adapter working > > Hi list, > > this is my first posting, and, of course, it's because I've I problem I > can't solve aon my own. > After two nights trying and 'googling' without any success, I hope someone > from the list can > give me the needed hints. > Now to the problem: > I tried to install visdn-devel-20060918.tar.bz2 on FC5, kernel 2.6.15- > 1.2054_FC5smp. > After some modifications based on postings in this list, I get it compiled > and installed. > Cause my hfc-based Draytek miniVigor128 ( I removed the case, to verify, > that it is really hfc-based) is found as usb-1-1, I copied the sample > device-usb-2-2 to /etc/visdn/device-usb-1-1. > Starting visdn_configurator shows me > D: 000001 > E: 000002 > Port object st0 not found > > At first I thought of a netdev-problem, but ip link shows me the visdn2 > device > > It seems, that all modules are load, but I miss a lot of entries in the > /sys/bus/... section. > Also the usb-led at the adapter won't turn on. > > To verify, that it isn't a general visdn-problem, I installed a pci-hfc- > card. > This card runs without problem. > A short test with asterisk, gives no errors or warnings. > > Here is what ip link shows: > 4: visdn0: <UP> mtu 65536 qdisc pfifo_fast qlen 10 > link/[8445] 00 brd 00 > 5: visdn2: <> mtu 0 qdisc noop qlen 10 > link/[8445] 00 brd 00 > visdn0: pci > visdn2: usb > > Do the usb-adapter need some kind of firmware? > > Any help would be appreciated > > Regards > Peter > _______________________________________________ > Visdn-hackers mailing list > [email protected] > https://mailman.uli.it/mailman/listinfo/visdn-hackers _______________________________________________ Visdn-hackers mailing list [email protected] https://mailman.uli.it/mailman/listinfo/visdn-hackers
