Exactly the same issue here; except I get a different mmc-related error. Just installed 2.05 over a working 1.6.3 on a clean win2k3-sp2-amd64 Enterprise host. The 2.0.5 msi placed an 11707 entry in the server log: "VisualSVN Server 2.0.5 -- Installation completed successfully"
I chose to install the mmc only version. When the installer completes, I agreed to the prompt to start the mmc plugin. It cannot connect and shows the error: "VisualSVN Server is not installed on the local computer" ...and there is no service listed at any point post installation. I uninstalled 2.0.5, reinstalled 1.6.3 (installs and works just fine), then resinstalled 2.0.5. Have done this a few times now, and have recieved the followng error only ONCE in eventlog (after many refereshes): Event Type: Warning Event Source: Service Control Manager Event ID: 7039 User: N/A A service process other than the one launched by the Service Control Manager connected when starting the VisualSVN Server service. The Service Control Manager launched process 3836 and process 1288 connected instead. Note that if this service is configured to start under a debugger, this behaviour is expected. Hope this helps as I'd love ot upgrade to version 2 On Aug 13, 5:27 pm, McCh <[email protected]> wrote: > Hello, > > i have upgraded VisualSVN Server from 2.0 to 2.0.5 on Windows Server > 2003 Standard (x64) box.
