In principle the procedure [.vms]test.com from the build tree could
be run against an installed Perl, though it would also require the
contents of [.t...] from the build tree. This is the gizmo that gets
run as a result of MMS TEST. What ordinarily happens from within the
main descrip.mms is:
$ @[.vms]test.com .exe
Once you get in there, though, I think DCL and Perl are the only
requirements (i.e., no MMS internally). Since test.com was not
designed for relocatability, there might be some gotchas in
relocating it, how bad I don't know. It definitely has to be able to
find PERL.EXE and PERLSHR.EXE, the latter via its own definition of
the logical PERLSHR.

No real news as far as I can tell. They seem busy squeezing memory
leaks out of it, of which there are apparently many.
