Hi.

     As a follow-on to the question from yesterday, we are seeing errors
     when we run Perl CGI scripts via our Purveyor webserver (but not on
     the command line). We are using the PPERL.COM / PPERL_PREPROCESS.PL
     mechanism as discussed on this list some time ago. our perl script
     does launch, but then crashes out with a fatal error.

     The problem comes from a line of Perl which uses backtics:

     $cmdResult = `acms /show sys`;

     This is giving us the error:

     Fatal VMS error (status=8780) at DISK$SGWSYSTEM:[PERL5_005_03]VMS.C;2,
     line 659 at pfs_root:[ddweb.desy]acms_show_sys.pl line 3.
     %SYSTEM-F-EXLNMQUOTA, logical name table is full

     Does anyone know offhand how many logicals are created / used when
     backtic'ed commands are executed, or have any other idea why this
     would happen?

     Regards,
